Found iguana with right lower leg gone.?

I found an iguana in a parking space with his right lower leg gone. I brought him home and keep him warm with a hot water bottle and plan to let him free after the weather warms up. Will he be ok, without his right lower leg or should I keep him ? This is my first experience with an iguana so any advice would be very appreciated :o)
